In 2006 Susanne created a group that has come to be known as the Meridian Equidance Company. Meridian Equidance is made up of a group of Sue's regular students who were chosen by her to be part of a dressage Quadrille team, affectionately known as the Big Q.
Quadrille is a form of dressage that is performed by teams of four or more. Specially designed tests and musical freestyles are ridden with precision and grace. The Meridian team currently has seven members.
Riding in formations is very challenging for both horse and rider. Social issues must be worked out between horses. Riders must become true leaders in the horse/rider team in order to keep the horses focused on the task at hand, not the horse beside, in front or behind him. They must become more obedient, attentive and responsive, looking to the rider for confidence, not the other horses. This takes practice, tenacity and patience.

In October 2008 Meridian Equidance produced its first full scale performance called The Equestrian Harvest Festival. The evening was a great success and raised a significant amount of money for a local charity called City to Saddle.
The 2009 Equestrian Harvest Festival proved to be even better. It took place in a new location, Apple Knoll Farm in Millis Ma. on Saturday, October 17th.
Like the 2008 event it included dinner and a fantastic show featuring the Meridian Equidance Quadrille team and several guest performances. This years show took place inside, out of the chilly October breeze. VIP dinner seating even included patio heaters to help with the unseasonably cold weather
The theme of the evening was "A night at the Movies". All of the acts paid tribute in some was to a popular movie.
Thanks again to all of our sponsors and supporters and guest riders.
Once again, the show will benefit City to Saddle, a great organization providing economically disadvantaged youth access to horsemanship programs.
Pictures available from EQ Photo's, DVD's from Phil Roberson . Plan to be with us next year at the 3rd annual Meridian Equidance Harvest Festival 2010 as we continue to grow and improve with your support!
