Susanne offers several different types of clinics to fill many different needs. Her unique style of teaching lends itself to many disciplines of riding. Dressage riders, Eventers, Hunters and even Western riders have benefited from her clinics. One of her current students does not even ride her Dressage tests, she drives them! This just goes to prove that good balanced riding and thoughtful, correct instruction is the key to success, no matter what equipment you choose.
Hi Everyone,
I just finished having dinner with Sue. She went on and on about what a great group you were all to work with. She thought everyone was so well matched with their horses, was impressed at how well the tack fit(she says there are many "fancy" barns where the saddle fit is really bad), and was struck by the camraderie of you all. I thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone ride and seeing how able you were to make some of the more difficult position and riding adjustments. And, really importantly, how happy all your horses are with the work. This is correct dressage training!
Thanks for the contributions of coffee, baked goodies, batteries, time, loaned video cameras, willing husbands, chairs, and your willingness to put yourselves out there and stretch your boundaries.
The next time you see her, please make sure to give special thanks to Laura Mack, the owner of North Fork, for letting us run the clinic at her wonderful farm.

I was just sitting down to write you a thank you in kind! That was by far one of the most thought provoking clinics I've been to and maybe the first one where the clinician had something different and relevant to say to every rider. Plus, such an interesting group of horses and riders too. I like that she interviews the horse -- somehow she puts everything into terms that are firm but not threatening, and she obviously cares.
My abs are REALLY sore, but my back doesn't hurt a bit!!! :-) I just love Willi. You are the best for finding him for me. I was thinking watching Tee that I didn't really need to buy Willi after all to meet my five year goals, but I am so glad I did because now Bren gets an adventure with you too and I get to raise the bar!

Private and semi private lessons may be booked at any farm hosting open clinics. Please see the calendar for a listing of scheduled clinics. Regular ring fees apply.
If you do not see a farm in your area and would like to book a clinic at your own farm, please contact us for dates. If your location is local to NH, you need to provide a block of at least 7 lessons. If your farm or organization is not local, you may book a clinic for a daily rate plus travel expenses.
European Style Retreats
In 2008, after finding the perfect location, Susanne was able to hold her first Riders Retreat. This format allows for a unique opportunity to spend three days immersed in training. These retreats are held at
New Gait Manor in Weare New Hampshire. This gracious farm provides the ultimate setting for riding, training and relaxing. From the spacious indoor arena with excellent footing, to the cross country schooling course, trails, outdoor arena, large airy stalls and the charming Bed and Breakfast complete with a hot tub, who could ask for more!
The lesson plan of each clinic will be slightly different based in large part on the riders needs. One weekend may be a Seatworks, another might be for eventers. Whatever the topic, the sessions will be filled with creative energy like everything that Sue does!
Consider getting a group of friends together and request topics for your own needs. A minimum or 6 riders are needed for each weekend with a maximum of 8.

Seatworks is a multi day clinic of Susanne's own design. It is designed for 6-8 riders and as many auditors as the space allows. Seatworks focuses on the balance and symmetry of the rider. For this clinic you will need a steady, fairly uncomplicated horse since seatworks is all about the rider. You will spend an intensive two and a half days identifying and solving postural imbalances and learning how to truly follow the horse's movements.
